Like many families, over the years we have accumulated a trove of pictures. Most are candid snaps. Some were taken by a professional photographer for a special occasion. Yet others were an attempt to convey some feeling about the subject. Nancy liked to take those kinds. Here Nancy took one of her shadow standing next to Gracie, her dog, in the late afternoon on the pier of a friend's house in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin in August of 2001. It was shortly after a major setback and prolonged hospital stay. Nancy had a natural talent for light and shadow in photography. When we have more time we will publish some more of those photos.
